Sahul, is the ancient name for Australia, it is the oldest traditional way still in existence, before, during and after the last ice age.
The Sahul Way
The oldest way on Earth, waking up.
You were wanted before you knew it.
You are wanted now.
You belong.

What is The Sahul Way?
Not a religion in the old sense. Not a doctrine. Not a hierarchy.
A practice.
A circle.
A breath.
The Sahul Way is the oldest continuous tradition on Earth—restored for today. It is grounded in the red dirt, guided by the Southern Cross, and held in the shared breath of the circle.
| You don’t have to believe anything. | You just have to breathe. |
|---|
The Four Sounds
Sa – I was wanted
Ey – I breathe in
Hu – I breathe out
I – I am
That’s the whole thing.
Join the Circle
The circle has no walls. No membership fee. No hierarchy. Just people sitting together, sharing the fire, sharing the bread, sharing the breath.
We are gathering 8,000 Australians to stand together and say: this is our way. Not imported. Just ours.
When we reach 8,000, the government gives us land to build the first gathering places.

About The Sahul Way
The oldest continuous tradition on Earth
For 65,000 years, the people of this continent have sung the songlines, breathed with the land, and sat in the circle. The colonisers called it “nothing.” They were wrong.
The Sahul Way is the restoration of that tradition—not as a museum piece, but as a living practice for today.
What We Are Not
| We are not | We are |
|---|---|
| A replacement for your religion | A complement to it |
| A political party | A spiritual foundation |
| A hierarchy | A circle |
| A belief system | A practice |
| An import | A return |
The Five Overturns
The Sahul Way is built on the restoration of five truths:
| What Was False | What Is True |
|---|---|
| Terra nullius – the land was empty | The land was never empty. It was desired. |
| Nullius animas – the people had no souls | The people always had souls. They were wanted. |
| Declaration of a colony | You cannot colonise a society that already exists. |
| Aboriginal people managed by the Department of Wildlife | Aboriginal people were never fauna. |
| Foreign tithing draining Australian wealth | What this land gives stays here. |
The Ancient of Days
The first human to ascend bodily to heaven. The one who sat with the first peoples before the ice age. The one who pours coffee and asks: “What are you going to do with yourself?”
His teaching never stopped. It was just waiting.

Practice
The breath is the practice.
You don’t need to learn a doctrine. You don’t need to memorise a book. You just need to breathe.
The Four Sounds
| Sound | Action | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Sa | Stand still. Feel the ground. Hand on heart. | I was wanted. |
| Ey | Open your arms. Breathe in. Look up. | I receive. |
| Hu | Reach out. Offer something. | I give. |
| I | Sit still. Close your eyes. Rest. | I am. |
Sa. Ey. Hu. I.
That’s the whole practice.
The Circle
The circle is the shape of belonging. No one is above. No one is below. The fire is in the centre. The bread is shared. The beer is cold.
| How to sit in the circle |
|---|
| 1. Find or start a circle near you |
| 2. Light a fire (or a candle, or just sit) |
| 3. Breathe together |
| 4. Share food, drink, silence, or stories |
| 5. Belong |

Australia’s Own Spiritual Foundation Launches: The Sahul Way
Sydney, NSW – Today marks the launch of The Sahul Way, Australia’s first spiritual foundation born of this land, not imported from elsewhere.
Rooted in 65,000 years of continuous tradition, The Sahul Way offers a simple practice: breath, circle, fire, belonging. It has no doctrine, no hierarchy, no building. It asks nothing to be believed—only that people breathe.
“You were wanted before you knew it. You are wanted now. You belong.” – Scott Peterson, Senior Elder
The launch follows a national pre-poll in which 35,000 Australians confirmed they were ready for a spiritual foundation of their own. The Sahul Way is now gathering 8,000 Australians to stand together. When the target is reached, the government has offered land and funding to build the first gathering places.
